The
Travelers Home of Distinction |
|
|
|
Unlike
the Indianapolis,
Nashville,
and Louisville
locations, the three Alabama St. Francis Hotel Courts were more
like authentic Alamo Plazas--just without the name. Employing
most of the features and methods learned from his uncle, Lee
Torrance, Mac McGrady created his own Alabama realm of hospitality.
Pretentiously naming his locations after the famous St. Francis
Hotel of San Francisco, his properties were nonetheless accepted
into the growing chain of Alamo Plazas. Later when Bill Farner
tried his had at franchising, the St. Francis Hotel Courts all
joined as associate members. |
