Probably opened in 1950, the Raleigh Alamo Plaza was first listed in Raleigh's City Directory in 1951, and last listed in 1979. Robby Delius who discovered the Alamo Plaza's listing in the directory, said that nothing of the motel must still exist, and that a local car dealership might occupy part of the Plaza's site. Additionally, U.S. 1 was apparently realigned when its local name was changed from Louisburg Road, to Capital Boulevard. The change in the road may also have been a reason for the Alamo Plaza's demise.
