Captured in photographs
recently by Scott Greer, this Summer of 1969 Motor Lodge was
the second to open in the Texarkana area shortly after Interstate
30 was completed.
Now as a Best Western,
Mr. Greer notes that "it's near original inside, with wallpaper
covering the original paneling" (in the guest rooms!). Unfortunately
he went on to add that "the lobby was a 70's nightmare."

this is a loading dock between the two guest wings. Note the
original HJ round lights on either side of the maroon doors. |
