Opened
in 1968 and only lasting a few years under the Howard Johnson's
banner, the property was converted into a Hilton in about
1972. Perhaps it was too upscale to be a Motor Lodge.
Later
it became a Radisson and then by 2004 it had been converted
into a Courtyard by Marriott. As a Courtyard the furnishings
and fixtures in the public areas of the hotel were all pleasingly
done in a retro-modern style.
