Denver-West, Colorado
4765 Federal Blvd |
This was Denver's second
Motor Lodge/Restaurant complex, and was originally designated
Denver-North. It was opened in 1969. When Phil visited, the Motor
Lodge was waving the Howard Johnson name (which isn't saying
much), but the Restaurant had been converted into a Mexican eatery.
From the looks of the place I'd say it is in rather poor condition
to say the least. |

Mr. Edwards had no kind
words to describe his brief visit to Denver-West! He had planned
to overnight there, and even after seeing that it was not in
the best condition, he attempted to check-in. However his experience
with the desk clerk changed his mind. Describing her with the
most unflattering of terms, Phil said that she expected him to
PAY her to scan his TripRewards card. He flatly refused to pay
for the free benefit and made a hasty departure! |
