Meriden,
Connecticut -- 2003
Berlin Turnpike
(Wilbur Cross Parkway was also listed as its address) |

Since
Meriden has undergone several alterations and no vintage images
have surfaced, the Restaurant's original design is not clearly evident.
Nonetheless the building resembles a "Hillside-type,"
and was likely opened in the 1940s. Part of the Carter
empire, the Restaurant remained a Howard Johnson's until the early
1970s. In 1993 it was converted into an upscale eatery called the
Sans Souci. |
