It is believed that Bartow's Davis Bros. Motor Lodge was the last of the chain. Sold on July 1, 2009 for $2.5 million to to Mike and Ken Chauhan, the property was renamed Stay Inn & Suites.

Opened in July 1973 by Frank Johnson and partners from Valdosta, Georgia, the site featured a Davis Bros. Cafeteria, Cocktail Lounge, 60 apartments, and 102 room Motor Lodge. After a period of time Johnson became sole owner of the complex and was its only manager.

Bartow's Davis Bros. Cafeteria had been a well-known local institution featuring all-you-can-eat shrimp boils. It was closed in July 1996 and converted into a Denny's.

While Davis Bros. Motor Lodges featured distinctive exterior design elements evoking a modern 1970s style, guest room geography, features, and furnishings were less reflective of the era and perhaps best described as functional.
