Phil's shot below and the vintage postcard view above, show New Castle's excellent visibility. It was situated immediately along the approach to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Motorists headed north to the New Jersey Turnpike would not have missed the Howard Johnson's, and for those headed south, billboards and additional signage alerted potential patrons to its upcoming exit.
