Located
nearly on the taxiways of the New
Castle Airport, the Skyways Quality Inn Motel featuring
100 "beautiful units" and an adjacent Dutch
Pantry Family Restaurant opened in the early 1960s.
In
addition to its traditional family fare, the Dutch Pantry
also offered cocktails. The motel was listed as an official
1964-'65 New York World's Fair ticket and information
center and boasted that its location two miles south
of the Delaware Memorial Bridge was along the fastest
and safest route from New England to Florida. |

While the modified Skyways Motel maintained its Quality
Inn moniker well into the 2000s, its Dutch Pantry was
apparently demolished and replaced by a more modern
building. Listings for the Quality Inn indicated that
Polidoro Italian Grill and a Damon's were adjacent to
the motel. |
