As
well preserved and maintained as its Restaurant was, the Motor
Lodge was the polar opposite. 1999 was its last year to be a Howard
Johnson. Having survived for almost three-and-a-half decades,
the classically designed 91 room 2-floor Motor Lodge was utterly
mutated into an eyesore of a Ramada. There are no kind words to
describe the transformation--the interior corridor guest building
came to resemble a prison barracks, while the Gate Lodge looks
like something that a failed architectural student planned--hideous. |
