Ocala-North, Florida -- 3811 N W Blitchton Rd @ I-75

Often featured on a generic postcard advertising several Florida Motor Lodges/Restaurant complexes, the exterior view above depicts Ocala-North. It was a typical facility sited immediately along I-75, and offered 63 guest rooms The classic complex opened in 1965.

Having lost the Howard Johnson name in 1993, the Motor Lodge was subsequently converted into a heavily stuccoed Days Inn.

Note that there is a "fake" Howard Johnson behind Ocala North that is of inferior design that was converted during the Cendant era.

Above: A typical circa 1960s Restaurant dining room interior -- featuring a Lamplighter Room in the background.

Note that the view of the dining room interior is not a view of Ocala-North, for its dining area was on the right side of the Restaurant not the left as is shown in the postcard.
