Alas, good things
didn't last. Ten years after Scott's visit, Todd Robertson made
a quick stop at Collinsville. He discovered that the Gate Lodge
had not only been mutilated, but that it had also been abandoned.
While the once famous Howard Johnson name still graced the property,
most every reminder of HoJo-ness had been obliterated (or would
soon be). Apparently Mr. Sargent's pristine guest room had been
gutted and rebuilt inside the now rather unimproved-hideous looking
guest building. |
