Todd said that
after the remodel, the Restaurant was "totally unrecognizable"
as having been a HoJo's, and that "it was supposed to open
as a XXX book store and was days away from opening when a fire
gutted the structure." He went on to note that it's just
a shell now and will likely meet the fate of the Gate Lodge--demolition.

Just a patch of
bare ground and two light standards mark where the Gate Lodge
once served as the focal point of this once busy Howard Johnson's.
In one fell stroke
the past is erased without a trace...
