Galesburg, Illinois
 --29 Public Square

Howard Johnson's directories do not list Galesburg until 1978, but as Rick discovered the site has a long history serving the needs of travelers! The historical marker indicates that a hotel has been on the site since 1869. Interestingly Mr. Birley discovered that the former HJ Restaurant was called the Broadway presumably after the hotel that burned in 1969.
