Like several other
Indiana complexes, Kokomo opened in 1963. Unfortunately it was
apparently converted into a Motel 6. At least I believe that
minimal parts of the original buildings are used, but it is difficult
to tell from these photos exactly what remains. Motel 6 conversions
tend to destroy the best parts of the former Howard Johnson's.
Moreover, after having stayed at a Chicago area Sofotel, I have
a bias against all Accor brands. |
