The wonderful neon
"Sleep in a Wigwam" sign seen warmly glowing in the
2001 photographs is no longer maintained or illuminated. Because
of mounting costs, house calls by neon repairers can no longer
be afforded. Only "office" with its arrow and the vacancy
sign were lit and even they flickered a bit too much.
Without the sign working,
my 2004 visit to the Village just seemed incomplete and somewhat
unfulfilling.
