Unusually set lower than
the roadway, Erlanger's Howard Johnson's was located to serve
the Greater Cincinnati Airport. It was built in about 1974 at
an exit of I-75 & 71 near where Cincinnati's loop, I-275,
was proposed to be constructed.
Oh well, I suppose that
this former Motor Lodge doesn't look too bad as a Comfort Inn,
but all the stucco and Taj Mahal-esque adornments tacked on to
old HoJo's are unnecessary and conceal the true beauty and genius
of Howard Johnson's architects and designers.
