Lasting as a Howard Johnson's until mid-way through 1988, Louisville-Downtown was converted into a Quality Hotel. By the early 2000s the property had become unbranded and was renamed The Inn at Jewish Hospital.

The former Downtown HoJo's will have soon completed another metamorphosis--more changing than any of its preceding. Upon a visit by Heath Gross, he discovered that the site will be nearly entirely remade into two Marriott branded properties. He noted that any of the remaining Restaurant and lobby areas had been stripped away, and that once the remodel has been completed the place will have lost its recognizability.
