Discovered by Heath Gross a while back while he was seeking HoJo's remains around Louisville, he wasn't quite sure to make of what he had found! Located on Eastern Parkway near Shelby Road, this was the site of the first Howard Johnson's in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It likely opened some time in 1952 or early 1953.

Based on the evidence presented by both Phil and Heath, the store-front location served as the Blue Boar cafeteria prior to being converted into a bakery and liquor store. It is amazing that they both found the Orange Roof and 1960s Trapezoid sign. What still remains a mystery is whether or not what is pictured here is the original building or not!
