Having been abandoned, ransacked, and prepared for demolition the former Motor Lodge awaited its fate while a silent swoosh-flush toilet had been curiously placed just outside the Gate Lodge.

No doubt the fortunes of the former Motor Lodge had been in long-term decline, but its sudden closure was unexpected. Note that the daily newspaper was still being delivered to the property even as the site had been abruptly closed and fenced off.

Above: The van behind the Gate Lodge must have been abandoned by one of the Motor Lodge guests and remained in its spot while the site was razed around it.

Below: The executive section was added to the property during the 1970s.

Above & Below: The guest building behind the Restaurant was in a stage of unfinished renovation at the time of the property's closure. Perhaps the botched remodeling effort exhausted the owner's credit line precipitating foreclosure?
