Lafayette,
Louisiana -- 1421 SE Evangeline Thruway
(U.S. 90) |
|
Built
at the peak of the Howard Johnson Company's expansion, Lafayette's
ultra-modern HoJo's was opened in 1967, and featured the newly introduced
A-frame Restaurant design (AKA 'T' style) based on the larger "Concept
'65" prototype.
Lafayette's
Motor Lodge was purged in 1987 and subsequently became a Comfort
Inn, and then at some point the property's owner may have attempted
to ugrade the site as a Clarion Hotel, but was apparently unsucessful
and it became the poorly rated Acadiana Lodge.
