Opened in about 1961, the College park Restaurant was a Nims-type. After 1985 it was converted into a Big Boy, and then in about 1994 into Plato's Diner.

Phil Edwards wrote that as far as exterior clues about its HoJo's heritage were concerned, "only the roof remains, painted black." Also the interior had been gutted and "rebuilt in pseudo-1950s diner style." He added that it was well done and that he enjoyed the service and food--especially the chipped beef!
