Eastern Air service Postcard circa 1940s

Glen Burnie , Maryland -- Ritchie and Crain Hwy.

Built in the 1940s, the original Colonial was replaced in about 1962 by the Nims-type seen below in Phil Edwards' photographs. The replacement Glen Burnie Restaurant was in front of Governor Plaza.

By Phil's 2003 stop the old 1960s style Howard Johnson's had been converted into a Denny's. Apparently the Howard Johnson's was one that had been given the "bay-window" treatment in the late 1970s.

Note that Denny's was using the Howard Johnson's "roof-logo" sign frame.
