Newton
was the fourth Howard Johnson's to feature a Motor Lodge,
Restaurant, and Red Coach Grill. In addition to the upscale
Red Coach the site also boasted a Talley Ho Lounge.
The
property was the largest for the famed Dunfey Family which
owned eleven other hotels when Newton was opened.

Eventually
the Dunfey Family sold out to Aer Lingus--the Dunfey Hotel
Corp. had become a wholly owned subsidiary of the airline.
In 1986 The Flatley Company purchased six of the Dunfey
hotels including Newton. |
