Opened
during the height of Howard Johnson's prosperity and progress
in 1965, Methuen's Gate Lodge was eventually demolished and the
property was drastically altered into a Days Inn. By 2004 it had
lost the Days name and became the Guesthouse Intl. Inns &
Suites of Methuen. The site reverted to the Days brand as a Days
Hotel
following the demise of the Guesthouse chain.
An
on site eatery known as Terra Mara Restaurant & Lounge operated
at the location for a number of years but by the middle 2010s
was renamed New
England Seafood Restaurant and Lounge.
