Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge and Restaurant in Hyannis, Massachusetts

One of the first Motor Lodges to open in Massachusetts, this relatively small 72 guest room Lodge opened in 1959. Situated directly on SR 5, I-91 was built immediately adjacent cutting off easy access to the once prime location. The Gate Lodge was demolished at some point, but in 2004 the guest building, Restaurant, and the last HJ sign frame remained.       Photograph August 26, 2004
