Monroe
-- 1440
N. Dixie Hwy. |
Built
in 1964 along I-75, the Monroe complex was a classic roadside Motor
Lodge and Restaurant. Following its Orange Roofed days it operated
under several banners to include Days Inn, Travel Inn Suites &
Spas, Economy Inn, and finally Motel 6. It endured for 50 years!
But by 2016 the site had been razed.

The
Trapezoid type street sign had been repurposed by the 2000s, and
only the reader board was original. |
