Gaudily painted after many layers of stucco, the Motor Lodge somehow managed to remain recognizable. Moreover its decapitated and squared off Gate Lodge incredibly retained its gleaming Orange Roof even after Cendant's anti-orange edicts.

Above & Below: Horribly mutilated while still operating as a Howard Johnson during the later 1990s or early 2000s, one of Rolla's guest buildings had completely lost its decency.
