The
original creators of Hooters had all sorts of plans to further
their brand's name recognition and market share. Including
the Hooters Hotel, they also created Hooters Air. But like
the airline which failed in 2006, the former Howard Johnson's
turned Hooters Hotel has failed also. Moreover the Hooters
chain itself has completely changed ownership.
As
for the former Las Vegas HJ, it has struggled to make ends
meet since its inception under any number of names. Hooters
was no exception to the struggle and with cash flowing the
wrong way, the property's owners sold it for $225 million
to Richard Bosworth and his Hedwigs Investment Group. After
a $130 million overhaul the location will become a "boutique
hotel," and most likely lose the last vestiges of its
HoJo-ness. |
