Situated along
the Garden State Parkway, Clark was only 12 miles from Newark's
airport and very near New York City. It featured 116 rooms and
had meeting facilities that were added a couple of years after
the Motor Lodge was opened. An earlier postcard view from the
same aerial perspective as the card seen above shows that the
central non-standard building was added. Note how the postcard
is carefully framed to show the Lodge's apparently easy highway
access.
A couple of ghost listing
on the Internet indicate the property is a Howard Johnson, but
it is more likely that it has been demolished and its valuable
land has been redeveloped.
