North Plainfield, New Jersey -- 1011 Route 22 @ West End Ave

Located between New York City and Easton, North Plainfield opened in 1962, and described as "Union County's newest and most beautiful Motor Lodge."

Well past its prime, the 70 room Motor Lodge retained its Howard Johnson name and even its Orange Roofed but altered A-frame Gate Lodge into the 2010s. Earlier, the complex's Restaurant was demolished and replaced by an outlet of the now defunct Eckerd drug store chain.
