Huntington, New York -- 270 W Jericho Turnpike

Among the earliest Motor Lodge and Restaurant sites, Huntington or Huntington Station opened in about 1957 and was New York State's second complex. Its guest buildings and ranch-style gate Lodge were more prototype than standard in design. Remarkably the small 60+ room Lodge retained the Howard Johnson name into the 1990s.

Although Huntington's Gate Lodge remained recognizable, it lost its Cupola and Orange Roof along the way.

By the late 1990s or early 2000s Huntington had been converted into the Huntington Country Inn.
