 Postcard circa 1940s

 East Greenbush, New York
580 Columbia Tpk Rt 9

East Greenbush was a very early Restaurant--likely opening in 1937 or '38. Based on the postcard, the Dairy Counter was on the left side of the main part of the building. The wing on the right was probably a later addition providing added dining room space as business grew.

Having survived as a Howard Johnson's until nearly the end of the 1970s, it was later converted into a Weathervane Seafood Restaurant (http://www.weathervaneseafoods.com) which served many food items similar to those offered by HoJo's.

Back in 2002, the interior still featured Howard Johnson's original beams in the ceiling, but the rest of the Restaurant had been extensively renovated.
