The Oswego STAND-ALONE
Howard Johnson's Restaurant opened in about 1960 and remained
a HoJo's until the 1980s. Not long after it ceased operations
as a unit of the once vast Orange Roof Empire, a budding local
entrepreneur and soon to be real-estate mogul named Steven Thomas
purchased the building and converted it into his own concept
called Peppercorns. He held on to it until about 1989 when he
sold it for conversion into a Perkins Restaurant.

Remarkably intact,
but VERY CLOSED in 2002 when Jack spotted the former HJ,
its Dairy Bar and cantilevered stools were ready for the next
patron. However by Brian Florence's 2005 encounter, the Restaurant
had been gutted.
