Although showing signs of deferred maintenance and neglect, interior corridor walls remained natural brick.

A mix of vintage and new, Bob's second floor beamless cathedral ceiling room featured an original Landmark Supply Company table as well its Pamper panel.

Note that the bathroom's counter was cut apart to accommodate a new toilet, and that the floor tile had been replaced.

Since Smithtown was built using a cost-saving design, its guest room balconies were not as generous as Lodges that had been built in the 1960s. Mr. Vindetti's room was on the end of a building and its exterior brick had not been painted.

Note that the purpose of using natural brick in the first place was to keep upkeep at a minimum--once the brick has been painted, it must receive constant and costly repainting or it quickly flakes rendering locations looking run-down. Motor Lodge owners should NOT paint or stucco over the brick since it increases maintenance costs considerably!
