One of several Long Island locations, Westbury opened in the summer of 1967.   In addition to the Motor Lodge and Restaurant complex, the Howard Johnson Company also had a Red Coach Grill that was located about 4 miles east of the Westbury Complex along the Jericho Turnpike.

Possibly the last Motor Lodge to use the 1985 to 1996 logo, Westbury's signage shows the last version of HoJo's stylized Orange Roof.

Weather worn by 2005, Westbury's highway sign was the type used by Howard Johnson's from 1985 until the logo was changed in 1996 by Cendant Corporation.
