that this HoJo's was "year-round luxury living in the Mid-South
Resort--swimming pool, putting green, pitch-put hole--50 rooms
with air-conditioning, television, telephone, patio--deluxe Governor's
Suite."
Among the earliest Motor
Lodges, Southern Pines opened in about 1956. Note the Howard
