Last know as the
Lakefront Lodge, this once splendid Howard Johnson's opened in
the Summer of 1965 along with its penthouse Red Coach Grill featuring
a spectacular view of Lake Erie. When it opened it was billed
as "Cleveland's newest and finest!" with "Every
room over-looking Lake Erie." A photo of this Motor Lodge
was featured in an article about the prosperity and bright future
of Howard Johnson's in the July 2, 1966 issue of Business
Week. |

It's Red Coach
Grill closed in about 1976 and the Motor Lodge itself lost the
Howard Johnson name in 1986--it stands ready for the wrecker's
ball and his implosive devices... |
