Opened in about 1962, this former Howard Johnson's has met its end. KyleSnyder, reported that until 2003 it was open for business. He said that "the restaurant was operating as "The Elephant Bar"-a bar/restaurant that had live musical acts from time to time." He added that since it had been "so heavily remodeled that only by looking at the rear of the building can you tell it was a HJ restaurant."

For a time the Elephant Bar was owned by Ebar East Inc., and Richard A. Bruce was its President and CEO.
