Dayton's early
Gate Lodge did not feature the familiar framework and drop lights
over the registration counter. However the church-looking A-frame
structure did have a series of drop lights hanging along the
front windows. Note that the light fixtures are the same as those
photographed in Titusville, Florida's Gate Lodge in 2005!
Everything in the vintage
postcard view of the Gate Lodge interior makes sense except for
the two youths in bow ties holding large metal loops or rings.
Perhaps they were there to perform a skit as patrons checked
in.
