Right:
Bathrooms in the non-standard section featured a familiar
sink-counter-toilet arrangement, but the mirror was only as
high as an average person's eyes requiring a crouch to check
out the hairdo! Note too that the floor tiles were arranged
in a typical 1950s type pattern unlike the later standard
HoJo's design.

HoJo's
fans will readily notice the original tile, light
fixtures, "silent" toilet, counters
with vanities, Kleenex dispensers, razor slot,
and more which all set the Howard Johnson's chain
apart from the rest!
Although
a few modifications had occurred, bathrooms in
the two-story building were remarkably intact.
In fact the rooms themselves were a museum to
the best of what Howard Johnson's had once been.
