Lasting well into the
1990s as a HJ Motor Lodge, Pittsburgh-South was opened in 1964.
Its Restaurant may have been completed about a year earlier and
began serving patrons in about 1963. |

Save for the concrete
stairway that led from the Gate Lodge to the Restaurant, it's
all gone now. Phil Edwards found a CVS where the Restaurant had
been, and a retirement community covered the ground that had
been the site of the Motor Lodge. |
