The Gatlinburg location
was opened in 1965, and remained a Howard Johnson branded location
until the end of the 1990's.
At some point its wonderful
eye-catching Gate Lodge was demolished and replaced with the
lobby structure seen in these pictures. In addition the guest
buildings have been modified with cumbersome looking steeply
pitched roofs.
