Tiny
tantalizing photographs on the former Howard Johnson's website
show original-looking rooms complete with continuous counters,
privacy screens and murals, paneling, and light fixtures! |

Much
but not all of what the photos showed was true. After tiring
the desk clerk looking in four rooms, I gave up trying to
find a privacy screen with a mural.
The
first room that I saw was a ground floor single--complete
with its original Drop! |

A
small Pamper Panel was featured in the single rooms. Note the
green "please call desk" indicator--these were usually
red. |

Here
another single room is shown to still have its paneling,
glass Diamond-Pattern shower door, and angled silent-flush
toilet.
Although
not pictured, each of the single rooms retained a continuous
cantilevered counter with luggage spot.

Finally
settling on a double room, it like the single rooms I had
seen featured evidence of Howard Johnson's heyday years. |
