area Howard Johnson's Restaurant located across from Southern Methodist
University was the first Howard Johnson's Restaurant in the state
of Texas. Variations of its address were published in Howard Johnson's
directories for the few short years that it was open.
Principals
in the Franchise-holding firm were Col. Earle D. Bottom, president;
Col. Harry E. Stewart, vice-president; Waldo E. Stewart, executive-president
and general manager, and Peter P. Stewart who was the treasurer.
The ground-breaking Texas first Restaurant remained open for less
