Last of a Kind ... Lexington had the distinction of being the very LAST complete Motor Lodge and Restaurant complex in the Dominion of Virginia. While the Lobby lost its Orange Roof tiles and Beacon, the Restaurant retained its outward HoJo's appearance until the end and even beyond.

The Restaurant had been remodeled and was not really outfitted with easily recognizable or standard furnishings and fixtures. However it still seemed familiar, and by 1999 there was no mistaking that it was a Howard Johnson's.

Note the mileage spinner above and below on the Dairy Bar. Lucky patrons could check to see how far it was to the next HoJo's!
