The
stand-alone Falls Church Restaurant was opened at the busy
Seven Corners junction of roadways in Falls Church back
in 1950. A great deal of roadside development occurred at
the heavily trafficked area during the middle 20th century
which included the now defunct Seven
Corners Center. The unit was owned or managed by Blake
Clark for its first few years, and was said to have been
situated on the site of Old Fort Buffalo, which was one
of a string of Civil War era forts that ran as far south
as Lynchburg.
The
HoJo's lasted until 1968, but the early Nims-type building
lived on to see many more days. It was eventually converted
into the tony Pistone's
Italian Inn.
