Lasting
longer than three decades as a Howard Johnson's, the Motor Lodge
had lost its brand by the end of the 1990s. Subsequently it became
an Econo
Lodge, which is apparently better maintained than most. The
Gate Lodge, though altered, remained un-squared off and still
had its cantilevered canopy as recently as the middle 2000s.

Amazingly, original circa 1960s Patio/Balcony chairs with brown
webbing were still being used. Note that the guest buildings received
a mansard-like facade by the middle 2000s (pictured on the first
page). |
