The
Warrenton Motor Lodge and Restaurant complex opened in 1966, and
by the middle 2000s had become one of the last three original Howard
Johnson's Motor Lodges in all of Virginia. Moreover it became the
last of the classically configured roadside type Motor Lodge in
the state. |

The
last Gate Lodge at a Howard Johnson's in Virginia--note the railing
in the photograph below. A somewhat unusual feature, the Gate
Lodge was built with a basement entered by a stairwell marked
by the railing! |
