The Williamsburg complex's Restaurant began life as a Nims-type, but was considerably altered along the way. The unit may have at one time been configured as a cafeteria. Converted into a Denny's, the location faced stiff competition and didn't make a go for too long--it became Casa Maya or Maya Casa Mexican Restaurant during the middle 2000s.

Right: An overflow dining room was outfitted with Landmark Supply booths and non-standard chairs.

After relinquishing its Howard Johnson name in the late 1990s, the Motor Lodge became the unaffiliated Williamsburg Travel Inn. Perhaps sold to new owners, the property took on the lowly Econo Lodge brand by the middle 2000s--not long after Phil's visit to document the site.
